In the SEN Learning Support role, you will be working closely with teachers and SEN professionals to deliver targeted support to students, both in the classroom and through tailored interventions. Whether you're providing one-to-one guidance or assisting in small group settings, your contribution will be vital to fostering a nurturing and inclusive educational environment. Responsibilities of SEN Learning Support: Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with diverse special educational needs. Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and support strategies. Encourage student engagement, independence, and confidence in the learning process. Monitor and report on student progress and behaviour to teaching and SEN staff. Support students with personal care and physical needs if required. Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, parents, and external professionals to ensure consistent and effective support. SEN Learning Support Qualifications: A degree in Psychology, Education, Counselling, or a related field is preferred. Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN needs as a SEN Learning Support in a school or similar setting. Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2 or 3 / NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance (desirable). Knowledge of SEN areas including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, or communication difficulties. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A patient, caring, and adaptable approach to working with learners. An enhanced DBS on the update service or a willingness to apply for one. Why Join GSL Education?
