Parklands Surgery are looking to recruit a further Receptionist to join our friendly practice in East Northants, working full-time to cover the hours of 08:00 to 18:30, over 4 days.
Main duties of the job
Applicants shouldhave a calm, warm and confident personality, with excellent communicationskills, understanding the importance of providing a good patient experience. Youwill be able to prioritise, as well as demonstrating initiative and adaptability. Recentexperience of working in a reception role, preferably within a General Practicesetting is desirable, although full training and support will be provided tothe successful applicant.

We are a busypractice with over 13,500 patients. Our team of 7 GPs, 5 Nurse Practitionersand 6 Treatment Room Nurses is supported by our well established team ofadministrators.

Job Title:Receptionist / Administrator
Main Purpose of Post: To provide a pointof contact for patients and act as a focal point of communication between patients,doctors and other members of thepractice team.
Responsible To: PracticeManager
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Bookappointments for patients with doctors and other members of the primary healthcare team using the EMIS Web computerised appointment system.
2. Respondto all queries and requests for assistance from patients and visitors.
3. Explainpractice arrangements and formal requirements to new patients, and thoseseeking temporary cover, and ensure procedures are completed.
4. Ensurethat requests for repeat prescriptions are actioned.
5. Monitoreffectiveness of appointment system and report any problems or variationsrequired.
6. Retrieveand re-file records as required, ensuring strict alphabetical order is adheredto.
7. Ensurecorrespondence, reports, results etc. are filed in correct order, and thatrecords are kept neat and tidy and in good repair.
8. Scanpatient communications onto the appropriate computerised medical record.
9. Receiveand make calls as required. Divert callsand take messages as appropriate.
10. Ensurethat the telephone system is operational at the beginning of each day andswitched over to night service at the end of each day.
11. Ensurethat the Patient Check In facility is operational at the beginning of the dayand switched off at the end of each day.
12. Makeall necessary preparation at the start of the day to receive patients.
13. Anyother delegated duties considered appropriate to the post.

* GCSE grade A to C in English & Maths
