We are currently recruiting for a Multi Skilled Operative to join our amazing team at our Tarmac Stancombe Quarry and Asphalt Plant, which is located in Flax Bourton, Bristol. This role is commutable from Weston-super-Mare, Bristol, Chepstow, Newport, Cardiff, Gloucester and the surrounding areas

Role Responsibility
Reporting directly to the Section Manager the duties of the Multi Skilled Operative will include the day-to-day operations of either fixed or mobile plant. The quarry operator will work with an internal team to plan the mixing program, they will ensure that stocks are maintained and replenished in good time.
Your role as a Multi Skilled Operative will include:
1. Working with other members of the team to ensure that customers get good quality material and on-time deliveries
2. Operation of the mobile plant including rigid and articulated dump trucks and loading shovel (mobile plant)
3. Assisting the Supervisor with meeting daily/weekly production targets
4. Ensuring Plant conforms with safety requirements at all times
5. Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality responsibilities
6. Following Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures
7. Inspections on the Plant and acting on defects and implement remedial action
8. Assisting in the maintenance regime of the Plant
9. Ensuring that Plant availability is maximised
10. Working to keep housekeeping around site to a high standard
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate for the role of Multi SkilledOperative will be able to demonstrate proven experience working within an Industrial, Factory or similar environment as an operative or labourer. As well as possessing good communication skills and have a real desire in developing both operative and supervisory skills.
To succeed in this role we would expect a candidate to evidence:
11. Knowledge of Plant and ideally possess previous experience in quarry or mobile Plant operations
12. Shovel and dump truck Licence – desirable
13. Be flexible and able to work as part of an effective Multi-Skilled Operative team
14. Be self motivated and able to motivate other colleagues in the team
15. Good timekeeping – flexible as to the Units requirements
16. Good communication skills – bringing problems to the attention of Line Management
17. Full UK Driving Licence
18. IT Literate
Previous experience as a Multi Skilled Operative working in a Quarry would prove highly beneficial however this is not essential as training will be given to the right candidate.
