Sometimes people find themselves going through tough times. Maybe they’ve had a bereavement, lost a job, or trauma from their past makes it hard to be who they want to be. Sometimes, people need help to keep their housing, and circumstances can be overwhelming.
In this role, you won’t be there to fix people or do everything for them. You won’t be a hero.
You’ll be there to listen and help people achieve the goals they choose.
We welcome applicants from all backgrounds, experiences, and knowledge. We seek individuals with a passion for creating change.
The work will take place around our unique crisis house in Newport, one of only two in Wales. The crisis houses in Newport and Cardiff offer a therapeutic alternative to hospital for people experiencing a mental health crisis. They provide a safe, supportive environment that responds to individual needs, alleviates distress, and offers space for individuals to work with staff to determine their support needs, connect, take time out, and be heard. You’ll work alongside people to help them achieve their goals, both at the crisis houses and within their communities.
Support provided must align with Platfform’s values.
Driving and use of own vehicle is a mandatory requirement for this role.
We work with people experiencing mental health challenges and with communities aiming to foster wellbeing. Each year, our projects support thousands of individuals.
We believe lasting wellbeing is rooted in understanding how traumatic experiences shape lives, recognizing strengths, and focusing on healing. While we can’t ‘fix’ people, we can walk alongside them on their journey.
We strive to make Platfform a great place to work, living our values and mission in everything we do.
