CNC Operator – Turning & Milling (Setter / Operator)

Hours: 37 hours per week (Early Friday finish)

The Role
We are recruiting a hands-on CNC Programmer / Machinist to work across CNC turning and milling machines.
This is not a CAM-only or offline programming role. The position is focused on setting, operating, and editing existing programs at the machine, working from detailed engineering drawings in a clean, organised manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Set and operate CNC turning and milling machines
* Edit and prove out existing programs at the machine
* Adjust offsets, feeds, speeds, and tooling as required
* Work from engineering drawings, including GD&T
* Support production across machines as required
* Maintain high standards of quality, safety, and housekeeping
* Contribute to continuous improvement and 5S activities
Skills & Experience Required
* Apprenticeship-trained CNC machinist or equivalent hands-on experience
* Proven experience in CNC turning and milling
* Setter / Operator level experience in a precision engineering environment
* Confidence editing programs at the control
* Strong drawing interpretation skills
* Proactive, reliable approach
Controls & Systems
* Fanuc experience – preferred
* Mazak or similar CNC controls – beneficial
* CMM / inspection experience – advantageous
