Job Description
AECOM is looking to recruit an enthusiastic Chartered Building Surveyor to join our expanding Scottish Building Surveying Team. For the successful candidate, they will undertake various levels of work expected of a Chartered Building Surveyor while reporting into our Senior and Management team. Projects may include live healthcare facilities, live commercial premises, schools, and historic university buildings mostly based in Scotland.
Key Responsibilities
 * Contract Administration
 * NEC Supervisor
 * Condition Surveys including PPM
 * Reinstatement Cost Assessment
 * Specification preparation
 * AutoCAD Drawing and Design work including measured surveys
 * Schedules of Condition
 * Use of Microsoft software platforms such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint
 * Use of iPad technology
 * Manages and coordinates all phases of multiple surveying projects at once
 * Writes proposals and markets projects to prospective clients
 * Project manages own projects and those of junior staff
 * Reviews, develops and implements new technologies and legislation, as appropriate
 * Takes responsibility for all aspects of financial management, including invoicing clients for own projects
 * Performs a variety of senior level tasks with minimal supervision
Qualifications
 * BSc Hons Building Surveying
 * A Chartered Member of the RICS
 * NEC Supervisor accreditation (desirable but not essential)

We have a strong national Building Surveying community, collaborating, co-operating and delivering daily. Being part of this 90‑strong team in 12 offices may involve occasional travel within the UK, with opportunities for surveys in the USA and Middle East in 2025/6. You will be based in our Glasgow Office, but our Freedom to Grow policy allows staff to work in the office or from home as they wish, with the ability to flex hours. The Surveyor will be expected to work from the office at least one day per week with the rest of the team.
