Overview
A leading data-driven marketing agency is seeking an Insight Director to act as the bridge between clients and specialist data science and analytics teams.
This role is focused on helping clients solve customer, marketing and commercial challenges through data-led insight. The successful candidate will work closely with senior client stakeholders to understand their business problems and translate these into clear analytical solutions delivered by internal data science and insight teams.
The position requires someone who is highly client-facing, commercially aware and able to communicate complex analytical concepts in a clear, accessible way to non-technical audiences. This is a strategic leadership role rather than a hands-on data science position.
Role Responsibilities
* Act as the primary conduit between clients and internal data science / analytics teams
* Work closely with clients to understand business, customer and marketing challenges
* Translate these challenges into clear insight and analytical solutions
* Present insight, recommendations and strategy to senior non-technical stakeholders
* Support new business pitches and client growth opportunities
Insight & Analytical Strategy
* Scope and oversee the delivery of data-driven insight projects
* Ensure analytical outputs translate into clear commercial recommendations
* Develop compelling data storytelling that links analysis to business impact
* Help shape how insight and analytics are used across marketing and customer programmes
* Lead and mentor a team of analysts and data scientists
* Provide guidance on analytical approaches and project delivery
* Ensure high standards across insight development, storytelling and client communication
Cross-Functional Collaboration
* Work with internal teams including client services, marketing strategy, technology and creative
* Ensure data insight is effectively embedded into customer and marketing programmes
* Strong background in analytics, insight or data strategy within a marketing or customer environment
* Proven experience working directly with clients and senior stakeholders
* Ability to translate complex analytical outputs into clear, actionable insight
* Experience leading analytical projects from problem definition through to delivery
* Experience managing or mentoring analysts or data scientists
* Solid understanding of data science, analytics and modelling capabilities, even if not hands-on
* Experience working with customer data platforms, marketing technology or CRM ecosystems
* Familiarity with modern analytics environments (e.g. cloud data platforms)
* Experience within agency, marketing services, retail or FMCG environments
