WHAT TO EXPECT In this leadership role, you will have the once in a lifetime opportunity to join a highly skilled, dynamic maintenance team based in Hams Hall. You will contribute towards the long-term success of JLR by leading your shift team in an uplifted the battery assembly Centre with new manufacturing assets. The manufacturing asset footprint includes numerous modern technologies encompassing automated multi-axis robots, automated welding and joining equipment, laser joining systems, automated conveyors, complex tooling and fixturing and lifting equipment to name but a few. Delivering a premium product from your manufacturing facility, you will take extreme pride in being part of the maintenance operations team at the BAC (Battery Assembly Centre), providing engineering maintenance support to maximise production efficiencies by maintaining all manufacturing assets and ancillary equipment within the manufacturing facility. • Provide day-to-day leadership to the maintenance team to ensure a safe and efficient production performance is delivered within the Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People and Environment framework • Comply to Health and Safety procedures by ensuring all safety metrics are achieved, including identifying safety hazards and risks and ensuring corrective action implemented and ensures the team receive appropriate training • Support and maintain the area staffing and ensure it is within operational constraints to achieve operational targets • Own and lead 5S and workplace organisation activities, validating effectiveness to standards • Lead the team to carry out running checks and repairs, as well as the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and Corrective Maintenance (CM) activities • Co-ordinate resource to ensure the right people are in the right place at the right time with the right tools for the task whist communicating clearly with the wider operations team • Lead the major breakdown Practical Problem Solving (PPS) board from breakdown tipping point to Concern Report Out (CRO) WHAT YOU'LL NEED Along with your ambition to achieve the exceptional, there are several skills you'll need to have to help you succeed here, including: • Previous experience in a similar role within a maintenance operational environment in manufacturing • Engineering maintenance technical skills gained from within a manufacturing environment • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively cross-functionally at different levels • Able to work independently, manage priorities, and identify solutions to issues using own initiative, coupled with a strong desire to make a difference • A ‘can do’ approach with a customer driven mindset • Understanding of PLC’s/automation and control/mechanical systems • Understanding of how maintenance contributes towards and effects operational delivery A leading premium automotive business and leading to move towards electric autonomous vehicles.
