Role Summary
We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented Buying Assistant with e-commerce experience to support our Global Product Team.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about product development, online retail, and building strong supplier relationships.
You will assist in product selection, stock management, and e-commerce operations to ensure a smooth buying process and seamless customer experience online.
Key Responsibilities
Buying & Product Management
* Assist in sourcing and selecting new products aligned with company strategy and customer demand.
* Maintain accurate product data, pricing, and descriptions across Shopify and internal systems.
* Support in preparing product ranges, line sheets, and product launches.
* Liaise with suppliers to track sample orders and follow up on deliveries.
* Create and update product listings on Shopify.
* Maintain and refresh product pages on the website.
* Manage product databases, collating certificates, technical specifications, and diagrams.
* Assist in compiling training materials for new starters and product releases.
* Provide support to the e-commerce and marketing teams as required.
* Identify opportunities for continuous improvement within the product range department.
E-commerce & Shopify
* Upload and maintain product listings on Shopify with accurate details, pricing, and imagery.
* Support website merchandising, ensuring collections are curated and regularly updated.
* Monitor product performance, sales trends, and customer feedback to support buying decisions.
* Assist with product set-up for campaigns, promotions, and seasonal launches.
Administrative & Coordination
* Provide general administrative support to the buying and product teams.
* Track competitor activity and market trends to provide insights.
* Coordinate with internal teams (marketing, design, logistics, and customer service) to ensure smooth product launches.
* Assist with reporting on sales, stock, and margin performance.
Examples of Day-to-Day Responsibilities (including, but not limited to)
* Supplying products to photo-shoots as needed.
* Updating and maintaining product specification sheets (Tech Sheets).
* Ensuring technical diagrams and installation instructions (step-by-step, diagrams, or video) are up to date.
* Creating and maintaining product training packs tailored for sales, warehouse, and customer service teams.
* Liaising with drop-ship suppliers and coordinating specialist training for individuals or departments.
* Supporting group training sessions as required.
Key Skills & Experience
* Preferred previous experience in a Buying Assistant or E-commerce Assistant role (retail or consumer goods).
* Shopify experience preferred but not necessary, with training available.
* Strong commercial awareness and understanding of e-commerce.
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets and comfortable handling data.
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to manage supplier and stakeholder relationships.
* Ability to prioritise, multi-task, and deliver effectively in a fast-paced environment.
