Role Purpose
We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys connecting with people and helping communities thrive. As a Community Engagement Officer, you'll work closely with local groups, community councils, volunteers, partner organisations and colleagues across the Council to help shape ideas, develop projects, and support communities to deliver what matters most to them.
This role is perfect for someone who is warm, confident, and naturally personable. Someone who can walk into a room, strike up a conversation with anyone, and help people feel heard, included, and empowered. No two days are the same - you might be facilitating a community conversation in the morning, supporting a local group with a funding application in the afternoon, and collaborating with partners on a Place Making project later in the week.
You'll play a key role in helping communities turn their ideas into action, building positive relationships, and making sure that a wide range of voices, including those who are not always heard, can influence local plans and decisions. You'll be part of a supportive team that values creativity, collaboration, and practical problem solving.

Essential
A relevant degree or professional/management qualification or equivalent experience in this field.
A current driving licence and use of a vehicle is an essential requirement of this post.*
