Were recruiting a Deputy Manager to join a small, supportive childrens home based in the Shoreham area. The home provides care for up to five young people aged 818 who need consistent, compassionate support due to emotional and behavioural needs. About the Role As Deputy Manager, youll play a key part in shaping the day-to-day life of the home. Working closely with the Registered Manager, youll help guide the team, maintain high care standards, and ensure every young person feels safe, valued, and understood. This is a hands-on leadership position combining administrative responsibilities with direct care and team development. What Youll Be Doing Supporting the overall management and smooth running of the home Leading shifts and stepping up in the Managers absence Helping build a strong, motivated staff team with clear direction Ensuring care meets all regulatory and quality standards Writing reports, completing audits, and monitoring performance Promoting safeguarding and best practice at all times Building positive relationships with young people, families, and professionals Creating an environment where children feel heard, respected, and supported Delivering staff supervision and contributing to team development Taking part in an on-call rota What Were Looking For Were keen to hear from individuals who: Understand childrens home regulations and inspection frameworks Hold a Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) Have at least 2 years experience in a senior role within a childrens residential setting (or current Deputy experience) Can stay composed and effective under pressure Demonstrate strong communication, organisation, and leadership skills Bring professionalism, reliability, and a positive attitude What Youll Get in Return Structured rota providing consistency for both staff and young people Mix of office-based and shift work for flexibility Overtime paid at enhanced rates Higher pay for bank holidays Funded training and development, including Level 5 qualification opportunities 28 days annual leave Performance-related bonus linked to inspection outcomes Workplace pension scheme.
