Overview
This role is a consultant psychiatrist based at Roseanne House, Welwyn Garden City, working with the Adult Community Mental Health Service (ACMHS). The post involves diagnosing and treating patients with severe, complex, and high-risk psychiatric conditions, and providing specialist psychiatric input to local GP Plus practitioners.
Responsibilities
* Provide diagnostic assessments and treatment to patients with severe, complex, and high-risk psychiatric conditions.
* Deliver specialist psychiatric input and triage referrals during weekly GP Plus meetings.
* Supervise and appraise Specialty Doctors and junior medical staff, ensuring compliance with the Modernising Medical Careers framework and the Trust’s personnel policies.
* Ensure junior medical staff working with the post holder comply with the New Deal and Working Time Directive.
* Carry out administrative duties related to patient care and record clinical activity accurately, submitting reports promptly to the Information Department.
Service Context
ACMHS provides care to residents of Welwyn Garden City and surrounding areas, supporting GPs in the local region through enhanced primary care mental health services. The team is multidisciplinary, reporting to a single management structure.
