Job Title: Lead IT Configuration Manager Location: Preston/Frimley. Salary: Circa £75,000 dependent on skills and experience What you'll be doing: Leading and providing oversights of all practices around the management of BAE's IT assets, to ensure that usage of them is, insofar as possible, risk-free and cost-effective. Overseeing the complete lifecycle management of all IT assets (hardware, software, cloud services, etc.), from procurement to disposal Performing daily and long-term operational and strategic management of hardware and software assets and configuration management items Ensuring effective management of the IT asset management toolset(s) and that the data within is accurate Overseeing the design of new processes relating to software and hardware asset management, where required, execute and monitor their performance Advocating the value and benefits of the IT Asset & Service Configuration Management function through collaboration across the business, ensuring responsibilities with regards to specification, acquisition, build, deployment, operational management and retirement are recognised within the product lifecycle Your skills and experiences: Essential: IT asset and configuration management industry experience in a similar role Demonstrable knowledge and experience of software and hardware asset management best practices Knowledge of licencing agreements involving major vendors, including Microsoft, IBM, Oracle and SAP Strong understanding of ITIL 4 and other relevant ITSM frameworks Leadership of distributed teams Desirable: Experience of using and managing Flexera and ServiceNow Ability to provide thought leadership and influence stakeholders in the pursuit of IT asset management best practices across the business Benefits: As well as a competitive pension scheme, BAE Systems also offers employee share plans, an extensive range of flexible discounted health, wellbeing and lifestyle benefits, including a green car scheme, private health plans and shopping discounts - you may also be eligible for an annual incentive. The Asset & Configuration Management Team: This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a new role that draws together core asset and configuration management capabilities. This role ensures the accurate tracking, control, and optimisation of all IT assets and configuration items (CIs) throughout their lifecycle, contributing to improved service delivery, risk mitigation, and cost efficiency.
