THIS POST
As a result of reorganisation this is a new post and the holder will work in the community providing a consultant service as part of the Armagh CMHT. The catchment area of this post is a population of around 40,000 (adult population) with an outpatient caseload of around 400 patients, although the team operates a model of distributed responsibility according to the New Ways of Working. He/she will act as clinical lead and work with the team leader and be supported by a training grade doctor (as allocated by NIMDTA). The other professional members of staff in the CMHT, around 10-12 WTE, include nursing staff, occupational therapists and social workers. It is anticipated there will be around 4 new referrals weekly allocated between medical staff. CMHTs also have access to psychological services and therapies. The post holder will also work closely and collaboratively with other parts of the service (home treatment crisis response team, acute inpatient care team and specialist teams) to ensure safe and effective delivery of care.

The post holder will responsible for:
* Assessment and management of patients attending outpatient services; Contribution to risk assessments (PQC); Preparation of care plans and crisis plans as part of the CMHT; Attendance at Community Multidisciplinary meetings; Liaison with other teams in the MHD as necessary; There will be no inpatient responsibility with this post as part of its main role – though cross-cover may be requested at times; the cross-cover arrangements are that the CMHT consultant, inpatient consultant and HTCR consultant covering the same geographical area provide cross-cover for each other for periods of leave. Therefore the post will require Part II status approval and duties related to the Mental Health (Northern Ireland) Order 1986, as well as duties relating to The Mental Capacity Act (Northern Ireland) 2016. Ensure good communication with patients and relatives.
Involvement in departmental and hospital audit programmes.
