Position Overview
SGS Design Ltd is a Kent-based interior design studio specialising in creating beautiful high-end, residential homes with attention to detail, aesthetics and client needs. We are seeking a talented and creative Senior Interior Designer to join our dynamic team.
The ideal candidate will be highly skilled and experienced, able to lead projects from concept to completion. You will work closely with clients to understand their needs and develop both creative and practical design solutions. Capable of managing client relationships, mentoring junior designers and playing a pivotal role in ensuring design excellence across a variety of projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead interior design projects from initial concept through to final installation.
* Develop detailed design including, space planning, concept presentations, material selections, and FF&E specifications.
* Prepare and review detailed construction documents, including floor plans, elevations, lighting layouts, bathroom design, and joinery details.
* Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion within budgetary limits.
* Coordinate with architects, consultants, contractors, and suppliers throughout the design and construction process.
* Conduct site visits to oversee the implementation of designs and ensure design intent is executed.
* Work alongside our Procurement Manager to manage budgets.
* Manage timelines and project documentation efficiently.
* Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering a collaborative and creative studio environment.
* Contribute to business development activities, including proposals and client presentations.
Qualifications & Skills
* Bachelor's degree or higher in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field.
* Minimum 5+ years of relevant interior design experience, with a strong portfolio across various project types.
* Proficient in design software such as AutoCAD, Rhino, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
* Strong knowledge of materials, finishes, furniture design and construction methods.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively collaborate with clients and team members.
* Strong leadership, organisational and project management abilities.
