HSE Manager – Photovoltaic Project in Kirkcaldy, Scotland
We are looking for an experienced HSE Manager to join our team and lead the Health, Safety, and Environmental strategy for a major photovoltaic plant project. This role will act as the key point of contact for all HSE matters, reporting directly to the Project Manager and ensuring full compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities
As HSE Manager, you will be responsible for:
Reviewing project plans and technical specifications to ensure compliance with all safety and environmental requirements.
Monitoring and managing waste control processes.
Conducting internal and external HSE audits.
Managing communication and relationships with clients regarding HSE matters.
Evaluating compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
Leading the monitoring, reporting, and coordination of incident and accident investigations.
Identifying and defining HSE training needs for project teams.
Preparing and updating all HSE documentation, including risk assessments, HSE plans, emergency response plans, and client‑specific procedures.
Reviewing contracts from an environmental, health, and safety perspective.
Designing and implementing emergency plans and hygiene measure reports.
Creating corrective and preventive maintenance plans and action plans.
Monitoring processes and ensuring compliance with the Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental Management System.
Managing HSE reporting across the project.
Leading teams within the Occupational Health and Safety and Environmental Management areas.
Supporting the Quality department as Principal Designer.
Signing off on initial audits and evaluations.
Requirements
NEBOSH certification and CDM.
Bachelor's degree or diploma (technical studies preferred).
Higher Technician in Occupational Health and Safety.
Minimum 5 years of experience as HSE Manager in industrial construction projects (preferably photovoltaic).
Strong leadership capabilities, problem‑solving mindset, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach.
Valid driver's license.
