Mechanical Fitter
The opportunity:
As one of our expanding team of Mechanical Fitters, you will work in a friendly core team, responsible for the successful build and test of our advanced packaging machines for well-known global household names. You will assemble smaller builds, of which are then assembled onto a larger machine, if required modify and then Test as per customer requirements, in-line with current regulations and specifications. You may also at times be asked to support our international service team with any onsite modifications and maintain existing machines to continue to meet customer requirements.
How you will impact WestRock:
* Follow WestRock safety procedures at all times
* Build and integrate mechanical components in bespoke automated packaging machines
* Ensure work is completed to agreed schedules
* Assist with installation and breakdown support if required
* Complete modifications as necessary and ensure accurate documentation is kept
* Responsible for completing safety checks and associated quality documents
What you need to succeed:
* If possible, experience as a mechanical technician or maintenance engineer, ideally in a packaging environment or machinery, equipment or vehicle environment.
* Either a time served (but not essential) or some mechanical fitting knowledge.
* General electrical knowledge is an advantage.
* Other qualifications within industrial engineering would also be considered
* Able to read and understand engineering 3D models (CAD training can and will be provided) or paper drawings
* Good problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
* Strong communicator.
