Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Data Scientist to join our dynamic team, in our office in Oldham. In this role, you will assist in analyzing complex data sets and developing machine learning models to drive business insights and decision-making. You will work closely with senior data scientists and other stakeholders to implement data-driven solutions that leverage advanced analytics and machine learning techniques.
Responsibilities
* Collaborate with team members to gather and understand data requirements for various projects.
* Conduct data mining and perform exploratory data analysis to identify trends and patterns.
* Develop, train, and validate machine learning models using frameworks such as TensorFlow, R, or Python.
* Implement ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into databases.
* Assist in the deployment of models into production environments, ensuring scalability and performance.
* Utilize big data technologies such as Hadoop and Spark for processing large datasets.
* Create visualizations and reports using tools like Looker to communicate findings effectively.
* Support the design of databases and optimize queries using SQL for efficient data retrieval.
* Stay updated on industry trends in AI, machine learning, and analytics to enhance skillset.
Requirements
* Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C.
* Familiarity with machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, SAS) and techniques including unsupervised learning.
* Experience with database design and management using SQL; knowledge of linked data is a plus.
* Understanding of ETL processes and tools like Talend for data integration tasks.
* Knowledge of analytics concepts and experience with statistical analysis tools (e.g., R).
* Exposure to cloud platforms like AWS for deploying applications is preferred.
* Familiarity with natural language processing techniques is advantageous.
* Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
