About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Fire Detection Field Service Specialist to join our dynamic Marine Service team. You’ll be responsible for servicing and commissioning fire detection systems on naval vessels, commercial marine projects, including offshore and overseas assignments.

Key Responsibilities
Service & Maintenance
9. Perform planned and reactive servicing of marine fire detection and alarm systems (smoke, heat, multi-sensors, aspirating detectors, water mist)
10. Diagnose, repair, and upgrade equipment to manufacturer and statutory standards
11. Complete detailed service reports and log all site work
Commissioning
12. Lead or support commissioning of new and upgraded systems on vessels and offshore installations
13. Carry out programming, integration, and functional testing
14. Collaborate with electrical, automation, and shipbuilding teams
Graphics Systems
15. Install, configure, and troubleshoot fire alarm graphics interfaces (annunciators, HMI systems)
16. Ensure accurate real-time system status
17. Liaise with software providers and customer IT teams
Customer Support
18. Provide technical guidance to vessel crews and operators
19. Deliver training sessions and demonstrations
20. Represent the company professionally on board and in project meetings
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
21. Proven Electrical Engineering experience
22. Degree or qualification in Electrical/Electronic or Control & Instrumentation Engineering
23. Ability to interpret client technical specifications
24. Minimum 3 years’ experience servicing and commissioning fire detection systems (BS 5839)
25. Familiarity with major brands (Autronica, Tyco, Siemens, Consilium, Kidde, etc.)
26. Hands-on experience with graphics systems and HMI interfaces
27. Full UK driving licence
28. Willingness to work ad-hoc and offshore and overseas
Desirable
29. Marine/offshore field experience
30. Knowledge of Ethernet/IP networks and serial interfaces
31. Offshore safety training (BOSIET, HUET, STCW) – training provided if not held
32. PLC integration experience
33. SC security clearance (background check required)
