Responsibilities
* Provide advice on planning applications, listed building consents, and enforcement cases affecting heritage and archaeological assets.
* Undertake site visits, review surveys, heritage statements and desk-based assessments to support conservation and archaeological work.
* Coordinate archaeological input into planning processes, including consultation responses and interpretation of reports for the general public.
* Assist in the preparation of conservation area appraisals, local heritage lists, and heritage policy documents.
* Contribute to public engagement, exhibitions, and heritage-led regeneration initiatives.
About You
* A degree (or working towards one) in archaeology, heritage management, architectural history, or a related field.
* Understanding of UK heritage and planning legislation, including the NPPF and relevant Acts.
* Strong administrative, organisational, and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team.
* A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for site visits.
Desirable
* Experience in a local authority or planning consultancy.
* Familiarity with Worcestershire’s archaeological and historic landscape.
* Experience in archaeological fieldwork.
* Skills in QGIS, ArcGIS, HER systems, or planning software (e.g. MasterGov, Idox, DEF).
* Membership or eligibility for IHBC, CIfA, or a similar professional body.
