The Supplies supervisor is an integral part of the Procurement and Supplies team management structure, responsible for the line management of a team of Supplies inventory assistants that receive incoming deliveries, check goods are received, and respond to orders from across the Trust sites and ensure the accurate picking and dispatch of goods ordered.
The post holder will support and deputise for (where appropriate) the Procurement and Supplies Manager overseeing the receipt and delivery of Medical Consumables, Equipment, PPE, and Pharmacy products ensuring compliance with Trust Operating procedures, and other relevant legislation and best practice guidance
Main duties of the job
1. Function as a specialist advisor and a source for information in matters relating to the consumable product range and availability of stock to all grades and disciplines of staff within Trust departments.
2. Maintain a sufficient supply of consumable products to meet Trust operational requirements, considering both internal pressure (such as seasonal fluctuations) and external pressure (such as Brexit, Covid19 and supply shortages) to maintain sufficient stock within agreed PAR levels.
3. Function as a supplies expert in Supplies related issues always demonstrating best practice and adherence to Trust policies and procedures.
4. Lead on the development, training, and on-going support of supplies inventory staff and function as a role model providing supervision and mentorship where necessary ensuring staff training and supervision is up to date.
5. Identify risks and support the risk assessments process in relation to safe systems of work and promote best practice.
