The Role
We are seeking an experienced, dynamic and motivated Teaching and Learning Officer to join our award-winning education team on a fixed-term maternity cover contract.
This role is central to maintaining and enhancing the high standards of teaching and learning across all TCW schools. You will conduct lesson observations, support and mentor teachers, and help shape the professional development and training we offer through our expert staff led and Goldsmiths-accredited programmes.
Youll work closely with our creative and committed education teams by visiting hubs, homes and community venues to ensure that every young person receives an exceptional learning experience.
Key Responsibilities
Support and develop high-quality teaching and learning across TCW schools
Line manage, mentor and appraise teachers, encouraging professional growth and accountability
Conduct teacher observations, provide constructive feedback and ensure consistent teaching standards
Design, coordinate and deliver high-quality staff training sessions and CPD programmes
Lead on at least one strand of TCWs training provision (Core, CPD, or Goldsmiths-accredited training)
Collaborate with curriculum and teaching staff to develop engaging, creative learning resources
Stay up to date with current curriculum developments, pedagogy and best practice
Support staff to uphold TCWs ethos of creativity, inclusion and excellence
Deliver up to 18 hours of teaching per week, modelling best practice in creative education
Prepare documentation for Ofsted and contribute to internal audits and school improvement reports
About You
You are an inspiring educator and leader, passionate about developing others and driving educational excellence. You thrive in a creative environment, enjoy coaching colleagues and have a deep understanding of effective pedagogy and inclusive teaching.
Essential:
Honours degree or equivalent qualification (QTS preferred)
Proven experience teaching and delivering high-quality lessons
Experience mentoring or line-managing teachers
Excellent understanding of curriculum design, pedagogy and safeguarding
Strong communication, organisation and leadership skills
Confident using Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
Enthusiastic, adaptable and proactive with a collaborative approach
