ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT - If you have Sage 50 Cloud experience, a strong background in accounting, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, we would love to hear from you. Our client, a leading specialist in Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) projects, is seeking a skilled Accounts Assistant to join their finance team. Accounts Assistant Key Responsibilities: * Accounts Processing: Handle all aspects of day-to-day accounting, including purchase and sales ledger, bank reconciliations, and cash flow management. * Sage 50 Cloud Expertise: Utilise Sage 50 Cloud to manage and record transactions, run reports, and maintain accurate financial records. * Invoicing and Payments: Process sales and purchase invoices, track payments, and ensure accuracy in supplier and customer accounts. * VAT Returns: Prepare and submit VAT returns in compliance with HMRC requirements. * Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements and reports. * Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank accounts regularly and ensure accurate financial reporting. * Payroll Support: Provide support in payroll and related processes as required. * Project Support: Work closely with the project management team to track costs, ensure accurate project invoicing, and maintain up-to-date financial records for ongoing M&E projects. * Ad Hoc Financial Tasks: Assist with various other accounting and administrative duties as needed, including filing, reporting, and responding to accounts-related queries. Accounts Assistant Skills and Qualifications: * Proven experience as an Accounts Assistant, ideally with 2-3 years in a similar role. * Strong experience using Sage 50 Cloud for financial transactions, reporting, and reconciliation. * AAT, ACCA, or equivalent accounting qualification (or working towards). * Experience with M&E project-based accounting would be a plus. * Excellent multi-tasking skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment. * High attention to detail with a methodical approach to work and problem-solving. * Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications. * Excellent communication skills for liaising with both internal teams and external clients/suppliers. * Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently. * A proactive and positive attitude towards tasks and challenges.
