Your Role The Senior DevOps Engineer will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining software components that enhance Ultromics’ imaging platform. They will drive continuous delivery practices, ensure secure and reliable deployment processes, and contribute to architectural and technical decisions that shape the platform’s future. This role bridges development, operations, and customer support, ensuring the platform is performant, secure, and aligned with our goals. Your Responsibilities Design and develop software components to extend and improve the Ultromics imaging platform. Contribute to the continuous delivery culture within the team, ensuring work passes through review and is promoted to production on a regular (if not daily) basis. Review and feedback on the software delivered by other platform team members. Demonstrate and promote best engineering practices within the platform team and across wider engineering groups. Contribute to architectural discussions, influencing technology choices and design decisions for the platform’s future. Maintain high-quality standards, including non-functional requirements relating to performance, security, reliability and observability. Provide technical advice and assistance to the customer integration and support teams, including onboarding new customers and fault-finding for existing customers. Collaborate with other Ultromics teams to deploy new products into the live working environment and making them available to end users. Contribute to the prioritisation and planning of work from user feedback through to deployment. Contribute to the goals of the platform team and the overall corporate objectives of Ultromics. Follow good information governance practice throughout this job role and ensure compliance with Ultromics’ information security and data protection policies in all applicable assigned tasks. Requirements Your skills and experience: Strong software engineering skills and excellent fluency in at least one of: Python, Typescript or JavaScript. Proficient with issue tracking and code management solutions (e.g. Jira, Confluence, Gitlab). Excellent working knowledge of secure coding practices, especially for web applications, APIs and OWASP standards – and ability to design and maintain software to work on the public internet. Proven experience working in a collaborative software development team. Experience of continuous delivery, including configuring CI/CD pipelines, and implementing build, quality and deployment stage gates. Use of and experience with cloud platforms and deployment of Docker images into appropriate runtime environments. Experience defining and deploying cloud resources using a IaC solution. Your desired skills and experience: Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline. Experience supporting, maintaining, and upgrading a SaaS platform for large enterprises. Experience of working within a structured/regulated environment, particularly under ISO-conformant management systems Experience within a healthcare environment, particularly in the US market. Experience working in a venture capital-backed start-up or scale-up environment.
