Curriculum Team Leader – Business Studies
Location: Southend-On-Sea, Essex
Start Date: As soon as possible
Contract Type: Full-Time (Permanent)
Salary: MPS/UPS + TLR (dependent on experience)
About the Role
Our client, a well-regarded secondary school and sixth form based in Southend-On-Sea, is seeking a committed and experienced Curriculum Team Leader of Business Studies to lead their successful and growing department. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic teacher with leadership experience who is ready to take the next step in their career, or for an established middle leader looking for a fresh challenge.
You will be responsible for the strategic direction, development, and day-to-day leadership of the Business Studies curriculum across KS4 and KS5. The school prides itself on a supportive culture, excellent CPD opportunities, and a commitment to driving academic success through inspiring teaching.
Lead the planning and delivery of Business Studies at GCSE and A-Level
Support and develop teaching staff within the department
Monitor and improve student outcomes through effective curriculum planning and data analysis
Drive innovation and ensure high standards of teaching and learning
Contribute to the wider development of the sixth form and school community

Ideal Candidate
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
A degree in Business, Economics, or a related subject
Proven experience teaching Business Studies at KS4 and KS5
Strong leadership skills and a track record of raising student achievement
Excellent communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills
