Role Overview
The Contract Manager is responsible for managing the successful delivery of building retrofit projects—from planning and procurement to site execution and handover. This includes ensuring compliance with PAS 2035 standards, managing stakeholder relationships, coordinating contractors, and maintaining tight control of budgets, timelines, and quality. The role is pivotal in supporting decarbonisation and energy-efficiency programmes in both domestic and non-domestic properties.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
* Ensure all projects comply with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) legislation and internal standards.
* Create a proactive HSE culture, ensuring safety is embedded in day-to-day operations.
* Lead the development and delivery of sector business plans, ensuring strategic goals are met.
* Project Management & Delivery
* Oversee end-to-end delivery of retrofit projects (e.g., insulation, heating upgrades, ventilation, solar PV) in line with PAS 2035/2030 standards.
* Manage project scopes, timelines, and milestones to ensure delivery on time and within budget.
* Develop and maintain project documentation, including work programmes, risk registers, and progress reports.
* Coordinate retrofit designers, assessors, coordinators, and installers to ensure quality and compliance throughout.
Project & Resource Management
* Oversee project setup, including team formation, H&S documentation, and programme development.
* Develop and manage resource plans, aligning workforce capabilities with project demands.
* Manage performance, resolve issues, and drive continual improvement across operations.
* Implement performance KPI's for each project to measure performance
Commercial & Financial Oversight
* Collaborate with the commercial team to ensure accurate cost/value reconciliation (CVR) and reporting.
* Drive profitability through effective cost control, resource management, and financial forecasting.
* Ensure timely and compliant applications for payment and cash flow reporting.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
* Act as the key point of contact for clients and stakeholders, ensuring consistent communication and satisfaction.
* Lead and participate in client meetings, presentations, and briefings.
* Promote a customer-centric approach across all levels of the team.
People Management & Development
* Lead recruitment, onboarding, and team performance management, including regular 1:1s and appraisals.
* Develop talent and succession plans to support future growth.
* Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture aligned with company values.
Strategic Development & Bidding
* Identify and pursue new business opportunities in alignment with strategic goals.
* Participate in tender submissions, pre-qualification questionnaires (PQQs), and sector development planning.
Set the supply chain strategy and lead procurement processes to ensure value and compliance.

Pay: £45,000.00-£55,000.00 per year
