Location: Paignton, Devon - Full-time on-site (non-negotiable) with circa. 4 weeks per year national and/or international travel

The Candidate:
You'll be a qualified engineer with a background in mechanical, electrical, or manufacturing disciplines. You're passionate about process improvement, lean manufacturing, and driving excellence in production. You enjoy working cross-functionally and are confident in leading initiatives from concept to full-scale manufacturing.
The Role:
You'll lead the design, development, and optimization of manufacturing processes for new and existing products. This includes defining SOPs, driving DfM/DfT reviews, supporting NPI, and collaborating with R&D, Quality, and Supply Chain teams.
Key Duties:
* Develop scalable, repeatable manufacturing processes.
* Define SOPs, work instructions, and test procedures.
* Drive DfM and DfT reviews with product teams.
* Lead CAPA investigations and implement improvements.
* Oversee pilot builds and transition to full-scale production.
* Define tooling, fixtures, and jigs.
* Collaborate across departments and with external partners.
Other Responsibilities:
* Champion Lean and Six Sigma principles.
* Use data to drive decisions and evaluate improvements.
* Ensure compliance with QEHS and ISO standards.
* Provide technical guidance and mentor junior staff.
* Occasional UK/international travel. (max 4 weeks/year)
Job Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering.
* Experience with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, ERP/MRP systems.
* Proven track record in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent documentation and communication abilities.
Desirable:
* Experience in NPI and cross-functional project leadership.
* Familiarity with quality systems and compliance standards.
