Job Title: Finance Officer/ BookkeeperContract: Temporary Location: Oldham, Greater Manchester Job Purpose:To provide effective financial and administrative support to the Trust's Finance Team, supporting the Finance Business Partners in the accurate and timely preparation of monthly management accounts and ensuring robust financial controls are maintained across the Trust. Key Responsibilities:Financial Support and Month-End Activities Support Finance Business Partners in the preparation of monthly management accounts. Assist with month-end accounting processes, including: Accruals and prepayments Accrued and deferred income Upload journals to the finance system accurately and within agreed timescales. Post payroll data into the accounting system. Process internal recharges and budget adjustments. Reporting and Financial Controls Review aged debtors and aged creditors reports, identifying potential issues and posting adjustments as required. Review outstanding commitments reports ensuring obsolete or incorrect purchase orders are removed from the system. Assist with the preparation of financial data to support reporting and analysis. Support monthly accounting processes, including downloading reports from finance systems and transferring data into Excel-based reports. Where required, prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations. Where required, assist with basic variance analysis to support budget monitoring. Systems and Administration Use Access Education Finance and Budgeting systems to support financial processes. Provide administrative support to the Finance Team as required. Maintain accurate financial records, ensuring data integrity and compliance with Trust procedures. Respond to routine finance queries from internal stakeholders in a professional and timely manner. Skills, Knowledge and ExperienceEssential: Accsess system or similar education accountancy software Experience working in a finance or accounts environment. AAT Level 2 qualification or equivalent relevant experience. Understanding of fundamental accounting principles, including accruals and prepayments. Experience using Excel for financial data entry and reporting. High level of attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines. Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
