Avantor is looking for a proactive Materials Handler to join our team based in Stevenage, UK. In this position, you'll play a key role in the day-to-day operations of our on-site stores, ensuring timely and accurate handling of materials and inventory to support laboratory and operational needs., You'll be a part of a newly established team, supporting inventory management operations. You'll be part of Avantor's Lab and Production Services (LPS) team, working closely with internal logistics, global metric support, and GSK stakeholders to ensure seamless inventory and service operations. This role is key to driving data-led decisions and continuous improvement across the site.,
Responsibilities
* Receive, inspect, and process incoming goods, ensuring all deliveries match purchase orders and are free from damage
* Manage inventory using internal systems, including stock rotation, cycle counts, and timely updates to ensure real-time visibility and traceability of materials
* Prepare and distribute materials across the site, ensuring timely delivery to laboratories and departments
* Replenish laboratory stores and point-of-use locations, ensuring critical supplies are consistently available to support scientific operations
* Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment, supporting general housekeeping duties
Qualifications
* Full, clean UK driving licence is essential, as the role involves transporting goods across the site and occasionally between locations
* Previous experience in stores, warehouses, or inventory management, with a solid understanding of stock control processes and best practices
* Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel and Word, with the ability to quickly learn and navigate internal inventory systems
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with colleagues, suppliers, and customers
* Physically fit and self-motivated, with a proactive attitude, strong attention to detail, and the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and workloads
