Overview
Our Council has responsibility for enforcing both on and off-street parking restrictions within Stockport to ensure the efficient movement of traffic, to improve road safety and the local environment.
Responsibilities
You will be working in all weathers patrolling all parking restrictions throughout Stockport, issuing tickets where contraventions have taken place as well as covering other duties such as checking pay and display equipment.
Stockport Council holds a Visa sponsorship licence but this can only be used for certain roles and this campaign does not currently qualify.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate is a proactive, dependable individual who demonstrates strong attention to detail and a commitment to public service. They will bring excellent communication skills, sound judgement and the ability to remain calm, professional and fair in challenging situations. Key skills include problem‑solving, accuracy in record keeping and confidence in enforcing regulations consistently.
