Role Overview:
Work within the Product/Project and Bid teams to apply expert-level knowledge of Integration and Test techniques to plan and implement testing strategies. Verify the correct integration of interfaces according to project requirements and customer needs, and attain customer acceptance of the end solution.
Key Interactions:
The job-holder will collaborate closely with the Bid/Product/Project team, especially the Engineering Delivery Manager, Product Design Authority, Systems Engineer, and potentially the customer and end-user communities.
Responsibilities:
1. Plan, develop, document, and coordinate activities from Integration and Test to Customer Acceptance.
2. Create and implement Integration and Test strategies for current and future projects.
3. Provide technical leadership for fault investigation and test activities.
4. Ensure availability of resources (equipment, tools, personnel) on planned dates.
5. Mentor and instruct junior members of the Integration and Test teams.
6. Develop innovative approaches with the test and design teams to resolve problems.
7. Direct testing activities of the Integration and Test engineers.
8. Carry out problem-solving to improve quality, reduce costs, and streamline test cycles.
9. Ensure test evidence is captured, recorded, and traceable to requirements.
10. Maintain effective communication with customers and subcontractors.
11. Prepare and present at Integration and Test gate reviews.
Essential Skills & Experience:
1. Minimum 6+ years in an Integration and Test role on complex systems development.
2. Understanding of Integration and Test strategies and philosophies.
3. Knowledge of system lifecycles.
4. Experience with continuous integration and formal verification activities.
5. Experience with Acceptance Testing for UK Defence projects.
6. Strong technical writing, communication, and analytical skills in English.
7. Team player capable of working across multicultural and distributed teams.
8. Self-motivated with minimal supervision.
9. Organizational and customer relationship skills.
10. Proficiency with DOORS, Polarion, and JIRA.
Desirable Skills & Experience:
1. Knowledge of Training and Simulation domains.
2. Experience with Vivaldi or other test tools.
3. Willingness to travel within the UK, Europe, or Middle East.
Qualifications:
* Honours Degree or equivalent in Science or Engineering.
