We have an excellent opportunity for a female support worker to work alongside our client in St. Austell, Cornwall.
Our client is a lady in her 30s who has complex needs, including an acquired brain injury, partial blindness, neurofibromatosis, some cognitive difficulty, and chronic fatigue. She lives at home with her partner and their dog (who is in guide dog training) and enjoys audiobooks, dog walks on the beach, going out for coffee, and is developing an interest in extreme sports. They are also building a treatment room in the garden for physio and relaxation therapies.
Due to the client’s support needs, the successful candidate will need to be female, have some experience working with complex needs/brain injury, hold a full UK driving license, be flexible, and work with the client’s needs, demonstrating clear communication skills, motivation, and the ability to build a supportive relationship.
Hours: Bank (likely shifts to cover, Monday - Friday, 7 hours per day)
Key Responsibilities:
* Supporting and engaging with personalized routines including hoists.
* Assisting with daily living activities, personal hygiene, and mobility.
* Administering medication and monitoring health conditions.
* Providing emotional support and companionship.
* Maintaining accurate records and reporting changes in the client’s condition.
* Collaborating with healthcare professionals and family members for comprehensive care.
Requirements:

* Reliability, commitment, and flexibility.
* Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in complex care.
* Ability to handle challenging behaviors.
