At the RAC, we’re known for roadside rescue, but our SMR division is all about delivering planned, structured repair and servicing directly to our members. Here’s what makes this role unique:

What to Expect
Your day will kick off with a clear digital schedule, and each job will be pre-booked, so you’ll know exactly what to expect. Your responsibilities will include:
* Routine servicing and diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
* In-depth repairs typically done in a workshop.
* Providing member advice and recommendations based on your inspections.
* Conducting vehicle safety checks aligned with RAC standards.
From day one, you’ll have everything you need: a fully equipped RAC van, fuel card, uniform, full tool set, and advanced diagnostics. Use your technical skills to get people moving safely and confidently!

What You’ll Need
To thrive in this role, you’ll need:
* A Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
* A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a vehicle technician working on light vehicles.
* A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.
