What you'll be doing
The Team Leader will work in partnership with the operatives as part of the team, supporting activities involved in the improvement and maintenance of machinery, processes, and people performance. The role requires a flexible attitude to deal with a variety of production issues as they arise on the lines within the area.
* Troubleshooting and performance improvement;
* Assist Operatives in managing and improving line performance by minimising downtime and focusing on effective solutions, deputise for Operatives during breaks or absences;
* Assist both the Filler/Capper Operative and the Labeler Operative in carrying out prescribed checks to ensure all products meet quality parameters according to relevant operating specifications, for all customers, license pack, and co-pack;
* Checking all critical control points for product safety and quality, and responsible for all corrective actions;
* Complete relevant documentation and sign off related to readings and actions taken;
* Assist the Area Process Leader to improve line efficiencies by interpreting production plans, understanding product, equipment, planning, and staffing;
* Help line operatives reduce downtime and changeover time by adjusting machinery parts and troubleshooting minor issues (mechanical or procedural);
* Assist in training operatives within your skills/knowledge parameters;
* Embrace new skills and activities necessary for business improvement, e.g., TPM, PPM, Asset Care, Workplace Organisation;
* Ensure escalation procedures are followed by yourself and the team;
* Interact with customers when they visit the factory.
What we're looking for
* Experience managing a team;
* Experience operating manufacturing machinery;
* Previous experience in a Food Manufacturing environment;
* Minimum GCSE level (or equivalent) in English and Maths;
* Food Safety Level 3 (training can be provided);
* Health & Safety Level 3 (training can be provided).
