This is an exciting opportunity to work across different parts of the healthcare system and to increase the number of bowel cancers detected at an early stage.
At the Wessex Cancer Alliance we work with primary, secondary and community care to increase the number of people diagnosed with cancer at an early stage. We are looking for an experienced project manager for a fixed term (22 months) to co-design, manage and oversee the evaluation of a project with Cancer Research UK to quickly implement changes that will affect stage shift in bowel cancer.

Job responsibilities
Key responsibilities include :
1. Implementing assigned local and national programmes across Wessex.
2. Leading a high-profile programme across Wessex, involving strategic thinking, quality improvement, programme management and stakeholder engagement across primary care, public health, secondary care, and local communities.
3. Working closely with service partners to develop and implement strategic and operational and plans to deliver the programme outcomes.
4. Providing programme management leadership and expertise to support sites as required.
5. Design, facilitate and effectively lead programme management meetings with stakeholders, ensuring breadth in participation and a focus on action planning.
6. Budget management.
We are looking for someone educated to Masters level or equivalent experience, with experience of facilitating multi professional groups and an understanding of the NHS.

Qualifications, knowledge and experience
Essential
7. Educated to masters level or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in a health care setting.
8. Member of relevant professional body - where appropriate
9. Knowledge of project management /improvement skills across a range of disciplines, with a track record of managing successful change
10. Holds a relevant project management qualification ( Prince2 Practitioner) or can demonstrate relevant equivalent knowledge
11. Presenting and communicating to a variety of different audiences.
12. Experience at a senior level in industry or healthcare sector.
13. Evidence of leading and implementing change, influencing behaviour, collaborative working with others.
14. Evidence of significant structured project management skills and experience.
15. Previous experience in quality / service improvement environment
16. Able to work across boundaries forming effective working relationships with a wide range of staff.
17. A self-starter, able to work with minimal direction. Knows when to take the lead in situations and when to encourage others take lead roles.
18. Demonstrate the ability to analyse and interpret technical, sensitive or contentious information and present this to a variety of audiences.
19. Knowledge and application of quality improvement and service redesign tools and techniques
20. Project management: Ability to scope, plan and manage a suite of projects
