Description
The Health and Safety Manager will:
Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures across the organisation.
Conduct regular risk assessments and inspections to ensure compliance with regulations.
Advise management and staff on safety-related matters and provide training where necessary.
Investigate workplace incidents and recommend preventative measures.
Maintain accurate records of safety audits, incidents, and compliance activities.
Collaborate with external agencies to ensure adherence to public sector safety standards.
Monitor and report on health and safety performance metrics to senior management.
Ensure all facilities management operations align with current health and safety legislation.Profile
A successful Health and Safety Manager should have:
Professional qualifications in health and safety (NEBOSH Diploma and CMIOSH)
Experience in implementing and managing safety protocols.
Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and compliance requirements.
Proficiency in conducting risk assessments and safety audits.
Clear communication skills to advise and train staff effectively.
Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external agencies.
ROSPA QSA, ISO45001 or ISO14001 auditor (desirable).
NVQ Level 5 in Occupational Health and Safety (desirable).
Fire Risk Assessor (desirable).
A background managing H&S in a public sector and government background (desirable).Job Offer
