Quality Control Engineer Reports to: Quality Control Manager Overview We are looking for a talented Quality Control Engineer to join our team during an exciting period of growth and technological advancement. This role is ideal for a versatile engineer who is proficient in Quality Control and eager to contribute to continuous improvement and customer satisfaction. Essential Skills Electronics qualification to HNC, BTEC 3, or A-Level (BTEC 2 considered for the right candidate). Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar Quality role. Good working knowledge of ISO9001 and ISO14001. Advantage: Experience with IATF16949 and the automotive industry. Experience in collecting, authenticating, and recording technical data; maintaining databases. Inspection of electronic and mechanical parts, PCBs, wiring, and final assemblies. Interpretation of documentation: Mechanical CAD drawings, BOMs, WIs. Knowledge of 8D and other problem-solving processes. Experience in implementation and improvement of quality processes. Strong computer literacy; proficient with MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Desired Skills DMAIC methodology. FMEA. REACH legislation knowledge. Internal auditing. IMDS experience. HNC or equivalent in an engineering-related discipline. Key Tasks & Duties Respond to production and customer reports of nonconformances. Perform or coordinate inspections and electronic testing to determine conformity. Follow 8D process for customer/internal non-conformances, including: Containment of materials. Root cause analysis. Implementation of corrective actions and preventive measures. Visit and correspond with vendors and customers as required. Maintain databases of customer/internal non-conformances. Execute internal and vendor audits in line with audit plans. Measure and analyse NC database data to create KPI reports. Advise management on vendor audit plans where concerns arise. Conduct vendor approval tasks as directed. Represent quality in production meetings. Contribute to team efforts and support department management objectives. Undertake other reasonable duties as required by the organisation
