Estimator – Aluminium Curtain Walling, Glazing, Windows & Doors
Location: East Midlands (Hybrid – up to 3 days working from home)
Salary: £43,000 – £50,000 (DOE)
Projects: £1m – £5m range
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join a specialist subcontractor delivering high‑quality aluminium curtain walling, glazing, windows, and door packages across the East Midlands and wider UK. This role requires strong, proven experience working with Tier 1 and Tier 2 main contractors, with a solid understanding of commercial construction environments, procurement processes, and competitive tendering. You will be working on a variety of projects ranging from £1m to £5m, using leading façade and window systems including Kawneer, Senior Architectural Systems and Technal, and producing estimates using LogiKal software.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare accurate and competitive estimates for curtain walling, glazing, and aluminium window/door packages
* Use LogiKal software to produce detailed and technically accurate quotations and system outputs
* Review tender documentation, drawings, specifications and employer requirements in detail
* Carry out detailed take‑offs and material schedules
* Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor quotations
* Build up labour, plant, and material costs for tenders
* Identify risks, opportunities and value engineering options
* Work closely with commercial and pre‑construction teams on bid submissions
* Attend tender review meetings and support handover to delivery teams
* Maintain and develop strong relationships with Tier 1 and Tier 2 main contractors
Key Requirements
* Proven experience as an Estimator within façades, glazing or aluminium systems
* Strong experience working with Tier 1 and Tier 2 main contractors – essential
* Good technical knowledge of Kawneer, Senior Architectural Systems and Technal products
* Proficient in LogiKal for estimating and system design outputs
* Experience pricing curtain walling, glazing and aluminium systems in the £1m‑£5m range
* Strong understanding of construction procurement and contract processes
* Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately
* High attention to detail and strong numerical capability
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills
* Ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously under tight deadlines
