Job Responsibilities:
1. Assist the Farm Management Team and learn all functions of managing a Company Broiler farm, including husbandry, ensuring high standards of stock quality in terms of weight, welfare, and specifications.
2. Gain comprehensive understanding of poultry operations in MP.
3. Contribute to departmental development by enhancing skills aligned with the MP competency framework.
4. Actively seek to reduce environmental impact through waste reduction, recycling, and sustainable practices.
5. Maintain accurate and current records related to birds, food, and supplies.
6. Support operations such as vaccinating, bird weighing, catching, and collection to ensure smooth processing and customer satisfaction.
7. Be aware of basic first aid and possess a Basic Food Hygiene certificate as per EU regulations.
8. Collaborate with the Farm Manager for self-development and training in farm management.
9. Communicate effectively with the farm management team regarding crop performance to ensure optimal flock performance.
10. Maintain professional appearance and integrity of the farm at all times.
11. Prioritize bird welfare in all activities.
12. Ensure high standards of housekeeping, keeping the farm clean and tidy, free of litter, and well-maintained to present a positive image and reduce vermin risk.
13. Monitor ventilation, heating, feed, water, and lighting within guidelines to create optimal conditions for bird welfare.
14. Follow company procedures for chemical use and hygiene, reporting any issues to the Farm Manager.
15. Understand and operate farm equipment safely, liaising with the Farm Manager for repairs and fault finding.
16. Adhere to health and safety policies to prevent injuries and hazards.
17. Contribute to farm security, ensuring premises are secured and authorized personnel are received appropriately.
18. Suggest improvements to methods and operations to enhance efficiency and economy.
