Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced ICATS-certified Painter with a preferred strong knowledge and hands-on experience in shot blasting and surface preparation techniques. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out painting and coating applications to the highest industry standards on a variety of surfaces, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and environmental protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform shot blasting, abrasive cleaning, and surface preparation to specified standards.
* Apply coatings using airless and conventional spray equipment, brush, or roller, following ICATS protocols and client specifications.
* Conduct inspections before, during, and after painting to ensure coating thickness, adhesion, and finish quality meet requirements.
* Safely mix and apply primers, intermediates, and finish coatings in accordance with technical data sheets (TDS).
* Operate and maintain painting and blasting equipment, ensuring proper use and storage.
* Read and interpret job specifications, work orders, and safety documentation.
* Maintain compliance with all safety regulations and PPE requirements.
* Document daily activities, including material usage and surface preparation logs.
* Work as part of a team to ensure the job is completed on time.
Qualifications:
* ICATS Certification – mandatory.
* Proven experience in shot blasting and industrial painting in marine, oil & gas, infrastructure, or construction environments.
* Familiarity with surface preparation standards (e.g., ISO 8501-1)
* Physically fit and able to wear full PPE, including respiratory protection.
* Ability to work independently or as part of a team in demanding environments.
* Basic understanding of paint chemistry and environmental regulations.
Preferred:
* Additional certifications if possible (e.g., NACE Level I/II, confined space, working at heights, safety training).CCNSG or CSCS card, MEWP
* Experience working in Petrochemical or in high-security industrial environments.
* Rope Access training
* Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights, following strict safety protocols.
