Business Development Lead – Water Sector Location: Hybrid (Cannock / London) | UK‑wide Salary:petitive + Car Allowance + Bonus + PensionA leading environmental services provider is recruiting a Business Development Lead to drive growth across the UK Municipal Water market. This role focusses on winning new contracts, developing strategic solutions, and building senior customer relationships that support long‑term ecological transformation.
What you’ll do:
1. Build and manage a strong new business pipeline across the water sector.
2. Lead tenders, bids and proposal development to secure profitable contracts.
3. Develop value‑led solutions in collaboration with Technical, Operational,mercial and Finance teams.
4. Grow key accounts and identify cross‑selling opportunities.
5. Maintain accurate pipeline activity using Salesforce CRM.
6. Provide market insights and customer intelligence to senior leadership.
7. Manage contract discussions and processes of contracts spanning multiple years and of £50 million plus in value
8. Working on winning utilities and MOD Contracts
9. Support marketing with targeted prospecting and digital engagement.
10. Ensure solutions align with sustainability andernance standards.
What you’ll bring:
11. Proven experience developing and converting a business development pipeline.
12. Strong track record in the water or wastewater industry
13. Experience managing contract processes
14. Experience with contracts worth £50m plus.
15. Previous experience bidding on and winning utilities and MOD Contracts
16. Experience winning tenders and bids in aplex, matrix environment.
17. Excellentmunication and stakeholder management skills.
18. Technical or operational knowledge of water and energy services.
