This is a unique opportunity for a Tax Partner to join a highly regarded and growing professional services firm in Derby. You’ll take on a leadership position within the tax team, managing key client relationships, overseeing complex advisory projects, and driving strategic growth.
The Role
As Tax Partner, you’ll be responsible for leading the firm’s tax services across the East Midlands region, providing expert advice and strategic direction to clients across a broad range of sectors. You’ll work alongside fellow Partners and Directors to support the firm’s continued expansion, mentoring senior colleagues and developing new business opportunities.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading and growing the firm’s tax advisory function, with a focus on quality and innovation
* Advising clients on corporate and personal tax matters including reorganisations, R&D, transactions, and succession planning
* Managing a portfolio of high-value clients, providing strategic insight and commercial advice
* Building and nurturing client relationships to deliver long‑term advisory value
* Driving business development through networking, proposals, and strategic partnerships
* Coaching and developing senior members of the tax team to build capability and succession
* Collaborating with other service line leaders to deliver integrated client solutions
About You
You’re a trusted and dynamic tax leader who combines technical excellence with commercial awareness and strong relationship‑building skills.
You will:
* Be CTA and/or ACA qualified (or equivalent) with significant post‑qualification experience in tax advisory
* Have a strong background in corporate and owner‑managed business taxation
* Demonstrate exceptional client relationship and leadership skills
* Have a proven ability to manage and grow profitable client portfolios
* Be confident leading business development and contributing to firm strategy
* Have experience mentoring and developing senior tax professionals
* Be ambitious, forward‑thinking, and motivated by the opportunity to make a lasting impact
