The Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM) is an internationally recognised leader in global health research and education. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Programme Manager to lead the strategic and operational development of a newly funded international network focused on extending malaria prevention to school-aged children.
This is a unique opportunity to shape an ambitious global initiative at the intersection of public health, education, and development. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in governance, partnership development, funding coordination, and communication across a diverse network of collaborators.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic leadership and programme delivery
* Establish governance structures and support network strategy
* Oversee programme planning, evaluation, and coordination
* Develop sustainable funding strategies and represent the network externally
Funding and partnerships
* Coordinate proposal development and donor engagement
* Manage funder relationships and reporting
* Develop contracts and manage key partner relationships
Operations and risk management
* Monitor progress, budgets, and resource allocation
* Ensure compliance with legal, ethical, and institutional standards
* Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies
Communications and engagement
* Lead the network’s communications strategy, including website and outputs
* Produce reports, policy briefs, and knowledge products
* Organise events and stakeholder meetings (virtual and in-person)
Qualifications & Experience
* Master’s degree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant field
* Fluency in English and French
* Strong track record managing complex international programmes
* Success in fundraising and donor engagement
* Experience working with partners in LMICs, ideally in Africa
* Familiarity with policy engagement and communications strategies
