We are looking for a dynamic, dedicated and compassionate person to join our Reception / Care Navigation Team here at Runnymede Medical Practice. You will play a crucial role in assisting patients in navigating the healthcare system, ensuring they receive the appropriate care and resources. This position requires strong organisational skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both patients and professionals.
Hours
This role is for fixed shifts per week to include;
Monday 7.45am - 1.00pm
Wednesday 7.45am - 1.00pm
Thursday 7.45am - 6.00pm
Friday 1.00pm - 6.30pm
Plus the flexibility to cover colleagues shifts when they are on planned (or unplanned) leave.
Please note that these hours are fixed and non-negotiation and therefore if you are unable to commit to these we would be unable to offer you a role with us.
Duties
* Coordinate appointments, follow-ups, and referrals to ensure continuity of care be this in person, on the telephone or electronically.
* Maintain accurate records of patient interactions.
* Provide administrative support, including managing correspondence and prescriptions.
* Collaborate with healthcare professionals to facilitate patient care and resolve any issues that may arise.
* Educate patients about available resources and signpost to alternative sources of support where appropriate.
Requirements
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients and staff.
* Strong organisational abilities with attention to detail to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
* Empathy and a patient-centred approach to care, demonstrating a commitment to supporting individuals in need.
* Proficiency in using computer systems and software for record-keeping and communication purposes.
* Ability to remain calm, organised, professional and positive in a demanding environment
* Able to work as part of a team and as an individual using your own initiative.
About Us
Runnymede Medical Practice is a 2 site NHS GP Practice based in Old Windsor and Englefield Green looking after 12,000 patients. We have a mixture of clinical staff including GPs, Nurses, Paramedics and Clinical Pharmacists as well as an extensive non-clinical staff. We are a training Practice and are committed to the development of all of our staff.
