West London NHS Trust provides a full range of mental health, community and physical healthcare services for children, adults and older people living in the London boroughs of Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham and Hounslow.

We also provide some specialist services that are commissioned regionally, such as our medium secure services; and nationally, such as the Cassel Hospital for people with complex and severe personality disorder and our high secure services at Broadmoor Hospital.


Job overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Security Services Officer within West London NHS Trust’s Forensic Services. This is an exciting opportunity to support and develop key aspects of clinical security across our secure care settings.

Working closely with clinical and non-clinical teams, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the management of security systems, contributing to incident reviews, assisting with intelligence reporting, and liaising with police and other external agencies to promote safety and learning. This role requires discretion, initiative, excellent IT and communication skills, and a keen eye for detail.

We are looking for someone who:

* Has experience in security, preferably within the NHS or forensic settings
* Understands physical, procedural, and relational security principles
* Is confident managing sensitive information and writing professional reports
* Can work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team


Main duties of the job

To provide security advice and support to both clinical and non-clinical areas of WLFS. To support the Security Intelligence and Services Officer with the development, maintenance, administration and management of the WLFS CCTV and Body-worn camera systems. Support the management and use of the WLFS Radio system. Support the administration of security policies and procedures, intelligence systems, and new projects relating to CCTV and body-worn camera systems

Qualifications

* Evidence of good general education and professional development.
* Security Intelligence course (i.e. NOMs accredited or equivalent) or willingness to undertake such a course
* Evidence of further education and training qualification


Experience

* Minimum of two years’ experience, or equivalent, in a secure NHS Forensic setting or other relevant security-related service.
* Experience working in complex teams.
* Experience of office management and administration, including Word, Excel and diary management
* Demonstrated ability to sustain initiative and direction under difficult circumstances.
* Experience in a Forensic setting.
* Previous experience within an NHS or local authority setting.


Knowledge

* Knowledge and understanding of the three principals of security (Physical, Procedural and Relational Security).
* Working knowledge of clinical and security risk assessment
* Management of CCTV system and related software
* Demonstrated ability to work within and show understanding of equal opportunities.
* Experience of digital photography equipment, software and providing teaching advice to others
* Understanding of the Data Protection Act
