We have an exciting opportunity for a General Practitioner to join our Primary Care team at HMP Long Lartin, a Category A prison in South Littleton, Worcestershire. The site is around 10 minutes drive from Evesham and 45 minutes from Birmingham. HMP Long Lartin has a high level of long‑term condition care needs and a small inpatient unit. This role covers daily rounds on the wards and end‑to‑end patient care.
Hours
Tuesday 9am–5pm / 8.30am–4pm
Wednesday 9am–5pm / 8.30am–4pm
Friday 9am–5pm / 8.30am–4pm
Responsibilities
* Deliver first‑class healthcare to a diverse group of patients and further develop your knowledge in areas you would not usually experience within a practice or an A&E environment.
* Provide clinical assessment and diagnosis to patients and make timely decisions regarding future management.
* Provide a highly specialist resource to other members of the healthcare team at the site and to the patients you work with, having active involvement in clinical governance and effectiveness activities.

Qualifications
* MBChB or MBBS
* Inclusion on the GMC Register and GP Performers List
* Evidence of engagement with annual appraisal
* Experience working as a General Practitioner in community general practice
* Evidence of continuing professional development
* Ability to work with patients with a history of substance misuse
* RCGP Certificate in Substance Misuse 1 and 2, or prepared to undertake these qualifications

Salary
This position is full time. You’ll receive an annual salary up to £124,320 per annum FTE – depending on experience.
