The successful candidate will have a proven track record of delivering value to customers within their field of expertise and demonstrate a clear specialization that establishes them as a subject matter authority. This role is hands-on, focusing on delivery as an individual contributor. The candidate will be responsible for evolving and driving the product vision and strategy, collaborating with business partners to align with the broader business strategy. Responsibilities include writing user stories, managing backlogs, setting priorities, and understanding future trends in the area to communicate insights to senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Drive the product vision, strategy, and long-term roadmap.
2. Partner proactively with peers and senior stakeholders to shape the product’s future direction within the wider business context.
3. Understand key user personas, customers, and stakeholders, including their pain points.
4. Manage product performance and adoption, working towards achieving OKRs.
5. Prioritize work, resolve trade-offs, and communicate effectively with teams and leadership.
6. Document requirements using user stories with acceptance criteria, and assist engineering teams in breaking down complex work into deliverable increments.
7. Lead sprint and release planning to maximize business value with minimal effort.
8. Encourage the adoption of product improvements and innovations among teams and stakeholders.
9. Handle live product issues independently, prioritizing and coordinating resolution efforts.
10. Provide leadership and direction to cross-functional teams on short-term priorities.
11. Serve as a subject matter expert in the product area, leveraging experience to deliver value to customers.
Additional Responsibilities:
* Analyze customer research to influence product outcomes and strategic goals.
* Understand diverse customer perceptions and experiences of the product.
* Develop hypotheses and collaborate with optimization teams to run experiments.
* Track and analyze system health metrics such as uptime, response time, and SLOs.
* Contribute to setting the product vision and strategic goals, establishing baseline OKRs.
* Engage in market research and use insights to inform product strategy aligned with business and customer needs.
* Utilize various data types appropriately, understanding large-scale data platform capabilities to enhance scalability, performance, and security.
* Understand the product management lifecycle, agile methodologies, and the importance of incremental delivery to drive growth and value.
* Recognize the significance of a product roadmap in stakeholder engagement and buy-in.
