A fantastic opportunity has arisen to appoint a Band 4 Therapy Assistant Practitioner within the respiratory team at Pilgrim Hospital. There will be a consideration for B3-4 developmental role. Our team aims to maximise an individual’s abilities, with a focus on patient-centred goals, whilst enabling a safe discharge from hospital. With good MDT working and strong links with our community colleagues, our friendly team work together, helping to support patient flow, ensuring a smooth transition between hospital and community settings. This post would be ideal for someone who has experience as a therapy assistant with the required qualifications for this role commencing as a Band 4. As an Occupational Therapy Assistant Practitioner you will hold different clinical and ward base caseload in an acute multidisciplinary setting, take lead on discharge planning and complete access visits in the community. The post holder will be required to work Bank Holidays & weekends as part of a rota. The post-holder’s base will be Pilgrim Hospital in Boston with an expectation to travel and work on at least one other site. The other site will most likely be Lincoln County Hospital, Lincoln. The role requires the successful candidate to work as part of a team to manage a designated workload (within a scope of practice), maintain appropriate records, accept accountability and responsibility for their own actions. The post holder will need to be able to work autonomously, with close supervision/support from a qualified team member, and as part of the wider multi-disciplinary team. There will be opportunities to engage in service developments and training and the post holder will assist with the supporting and skill development of Occupational Therapy staff including assistants, apprentices and students. Support the Respiratory Team and work alongside Physiotherapists and other health care professionals. To evaluate patient’s progress and use own judgement to make amendments to the treatment programme within their scope of practice. To undertake administrative and some house-keeping duties to support the Therapy service. To work closely with MDT with treatment and safe discharge planning in a high - pressure environment. Assessment and treatment that includes patients with a wide variety of conditions across Respiratory within a competency framework. Pilgrim Hospital is situated beautiful countryside and serves the communities in the South Lincolnshire area. It provides all major specialties and a 24-hour major accident and emergency service. Grantham and District Hospital serves the communities of Grantham and the local area. It provides ambulatory paediatric and accident and emergency services. Lincoln Hospital is a thriving university city and with the opening of the medical school, it provides all major specialties and a 24-hour major accident and emergency service United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust has been granted teaching hospital status, after demonstrating evidence to significant teaching commitment. From now on it will be known as United Lincolnshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust (LCHS) and United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust (ULHT) have come together in a Group arrangement, with the goal of improving the care provided to patients across the county. This will not constitute a formal merger of the two organisations, but will bring the Trusts together under a single Board and Executive Leadership Team, with the goal of improving the care that is provided to patients both in the community and in hospitals across Lincolnshire. Both Trusts will retain their separate statutory names and legal obligations. The Group will be known as Lincolnshire Community and Hospitals NHS Group (LCHG).
