Role & Responsibilities
* Review and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) to ensure accurate sourcing.
* Identify, evaluate, and manage suppliers based on capability, quality, delivery, and reliability.
* Manage day‑to‑day procurement activity to meet MRP demands and ensure on‑time delivery.
* Lead price and contract negotiations to secure favourable terms, costs, and schedules.
* Create and manage purchase orders in line with company policies and compliance standards.
* Collaborate with internal teams to understand project requirements and resolve queries efficiently.
* Drive cost‑saving and supply chain optimisation initiatives to support business objectives.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
* Proven experience as a Buyer within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
* Experience buying into the Steel Industry would be advantageous.
* Strong understanding of procurement processes, supply chain management, and MRP systems (ERP experience required).
* Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
* Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with attention to detail.
