SEND Tutor – Newcastle
Pay starting from GBP25 per hour
Prospero Teaching are working in partnership with Newcastle Local Authority to provide tuition to a young person with Special Education Needs. This individual is currently on an Education Other Than At School (EOTAS) package, you will be acting as their alternative education provision ensuring you meet their needs in Section F of their EHCP and accommodating their specific behaviours and conditions. This young person will be requiring tuition until a suitable placement is found, we are looking for an experienced individual who can commit to working with this student long term.
This individual is 12 years old, located in West Newcastle. The young person has Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD and a variety of associated neurodiverse & mental health conditions. This is an excellent opportunity for a caring, empathetic tutor to utilise their skills & make a meaningful difference in the lives of a vulnerable individual.
The successful tutor will be versed in attachment aware and trauma-informed practice, with the ability to act with patience and develop lessons to suit the young persons needs.
Experience working 1-to-1 with SEND & SEMH students is essential for this role.
We can build up your timetable to accommodate either full or part time hours. Pay rate starts from GBP25 per hour.

As part of your role, you will be expected to:
· Build a rapport with the young person
· Tailor lessons to their needs
· Mark sessional attendance
· Complete weekly reports
· Complete an Individual Learning Plan

What we need from you:
· Hold the right to work in the UK
· Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to complete a new application
· Provide references to cover the last two years of employment
· The ability to commit to the young person and work for the duration of the placement
